Chingola City is situated on the northern border of Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, 410 kilometres north of the capital city of Lusaka. It is often a point of interest on the tourist trail, as it’s the location of the Nchanga Open Pit Mine – one of the world’s largest open cast mines. Here visitors can take in its cylindrical paths leading down to its floor. Other popular attractions include a visit to the Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage, where holding, playing and feeding the chimpanzees is all part of the experience. Chingola City hotels provide visitors with one to five star options.
